Living Person Consent Policy

If the person is alive, you must obtain their permission before creating voice, likeness, or AI profiles of them.

AncestLore is built for legacy, but living people sometimes appear in your stories too. The rules are stricter for them, on purpose.

You must have permission

Before creating a voice recreation, likeness recreation, AI persona, or Memory Profile of a living individual, you must obtain their informed consent. That means they understand what AncestLore does, how their voice and image will be used, and that they can withdraw consent at any time.

You may not

  • Create a voice clone of a living person without explicit permission.
  • Generate AI conversations that impersonate a living person.
  • Use the Service to surveil, manipulate, or coerce anyone.
  • Create profiles of ex-partners, estranged family, or any individual who has not agreed.

Right to be removed

A living person depicted in AncestLore may at any time request that their voice, likeness, or profile be removed. We will comply promptly, even if it disrupts ongoing projects.

This document is provided in good faith to help users understand how AncestLore works. It is plain-English summary text and does not substitute professional legal advice. The most current version published on AncestLore.com always applies.
